This report was not intended to be a full evaluation of the modular light weight buildings (MLBs) installed by the NSW Department of TAFE. The main emphasis is on an initial examination of user satisfaction with MLBs and the problems with MLBs as identified by users after a short period (about 4 weeks) of operation. As a result, this report has not evaluated the MLBs' ability to stand up to use, the possible cost and other advantages such as speed of installation provided by MLBs over other `demountable' accommodation or the suitability MLBs in areas of low building utilisation. Data for this review was collected by questionnaire and interview (at the three colleges at which MLBs have been erected) of teachers, students and college principals.
